Anyone who has a pet understands that there are many concerns that must be addressed from time to time to make sure that your pet continues to enjoy good health. Dog and cat parasites are one of those concerns, and they can lead to many health issues if not treated corrected and on a timely basis. The photo is taken from the Wikipedia files of heart worms. Rid your pet of external parasites like fleas, ticks and mosquitoes, because these are the root cause of internal dog and cat parasites.
The mosquito bite can cause heart worms and are one of the dog and cat parasites that can lead to an early death if not managed on a monthly basis. Heart worms can be devastating when your beloved pet has been infected and quite expensive to treat. The only way for pets to get these parasites is to be bitten by an infected mosquito so the best defense is a good offense. Treating your grounds for mosquitoes is the best way to prevent your pets from being infected.
It is always recommended that a home owner remove any standing water when possible. A small pool of water in a tire is easy to handle. Use a mosquito If that is not something you can do, for instance if you are living close to a large body of water with stagnant regions that provide breeding areas for mosquitoes, the next thing to do would be to make sure you have your pet on a regimen of heart treatment each month. Otherwise you will have to place your dog in a bubble to prevent exposure to these kinds of elements.

Early symptoms of mild kennel cough are likely to disappear on their own within a fortnight. The dry hacking cough associated with kennel cough, may not let you or your dog sleep peacefully for 10 to 12 days at a stretch. Even though cough suppressants provide temporary symptomatic relief, they restrict the phlegm from coming out and therefore prolong the duration of a normally self limiting disease. The longer the condition continues the greater the risk of the disease progressing into pneumonia.
Your dog’s body is capable of healing kennel cough infections on its own. The immune responses of the body quickly come into play and safeguard against infections. However, this protection is available only when these safeguards are not damaged and the immune system is in perfect condition.
Prevention is the best cure for kennel cough in dogs. While vaccinating a dog will save your dog from the agony caused by the infection, certain home remedies can provide relief from symptoms while ensuring the long term benefit of boosting the immune system as well. Also homeopathic remedies can be applied even before the visit to the veterinarian.
